As part of the "Shusha from the Perspective of Malaysia" project, organized by the Sonmaz Mashall Cultural Relations Public Union in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Malaysia and the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery, a round table dedicated to the history of the city of Shusha was held at the Yunus Emre Institute in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. The event was opened by Omar Altun, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute, who emphasized the significance of cultural exchange between nations and expressed his pride that the discussion on Shusha's history took place at the Yunus Emre Institute.
Shahla Naghiyeva, Chairperson of the Sonmaz Mashall Cultural Relations Public Union, provided insights into the turbulent history of Shusha and discussed its liberation after nearly 30 years of Armenian occupation, under the leadership of the victorious Commander- in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Following this, the feature-documentary film "Clouded Mountains of Shusha", produced by Sonmaz Mashall Cultural Relations Public Union in collaboration with Public Television with the financial support of the State Support Agency for Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was screened.
At the event, Professor Shanmugam Krishnavani from the University of Malaysia shared his perspectives on the city of Shusha.
Türkiye's Consul General in Malaysia, Tolga Ucak, praised Shusha as a city of pride and highlighted the importance of showcasing its history through films.
Attendees of the event shared their reflections on the film and the city of Shusha, an ancient cultural and artistic hub of Azerbaijan. The event was attended by Elsever Salmanov, Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Malaysia, along with embassy staff, students, and young researchers.
