The project titled "Shusha from the Perspective of Malaysia" was implemented by Sonmaz Mashal Cultural Relations Public Union project team, with financial support from the Agency for State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan. "
The event took place at the KL City Art Gallery in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from June 24 to 27, 2024. The project was realized in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Malaysia, KL City Art Gallery, and the Azerbaijan State Art Gallery, in connection with the declaration of Shusha as the "Cultural Capital of the Islamic World" for 2024, as recognized during the 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Islamic World.
Within the framework of the project, an art exhibition titled "Travel to Karabakh with Colors" and a roundtable discussion devoted to the history and formation of Shusha were organized. Garabagh music and Shusha cuisine were also presented.
In addition, a documentary film titled "Shusha from the Perspective of Malaysia" was produced using footage captured during the events. Presentation of the film was organized on October 27, 2024 in Nizami Cinema Center. The Embassy of Malaysia to the Republic of Azerbaijan supported the project by organizing presentation of the film in Cinema Park in Flame Tower on November 1, 2024.
Guests were also presented with booklets, including "Shusha, the Cultural Capital of Azerbaijan," " Garabagh," and the "Shusha Monuments" collection, which were prepared in several languages by researcher-journalist Vasif Guliyev.
The event concluded with the distribution of booklets entitled "Songs about Shusha and Garabagh," along with detailing the preparation of Shusha cuisine in Azerbaijani and English to the participants.
