"“The Long Road of Our Oil to Europe” Presented in Baku""

With the support of bp-Azerbaijan and the organization of Sonmaz Mashall Cultural Relations Public Union, the project “The Long Road of Our Oil to Europe” has been completed. "

As part of the initiative, a 258-page book authored by renowned journalist and Honored Cultural Worker Musallim Hasanov was launched on July 10 at the Baku Book Center.

The publication is the first to document the development of Azerbaijan’s oil and gas industry across four key historical periods – Tsarist Russia, the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the Soviet era, and independence. By presenting rare archival materials and highlighting milestones such as the “Contract of the Century,” the project underscores the strategic role of oil in shaping Azerbaijan’s national identity and international partnerships.
